I cannot open a draft page.

Sergey_Kosinsky April 19, 2020

I am not able to open/delete four draft pages.  When  I tried to open  a page the ring was spinning for a long time. I cleared browser cache. I tried to open in another browser or another computer.  The same issue existed.

A few another draft pages has been successfully opened and deleted.

Yes I opened browser console and saw a few errors there.  I reported the errors to IT staff and  now everything is OK. The problem has gone away. Thank you.

Sergey.

Hi Sergey,

Thank you for letting me know that. Was the IT staff able to fix it, or did it just go away on its own?

If they fixed it, do you happen to know what they did, in case anyone else needs to report the same to their IT team?

Hi, Shannon,

as far as I know our IT staff only informed you about the issue. At least they asked me the same questions as you.

In a few hours later I tried to reload a draft page and noticed that just a small part of the page had been  loaded. It was the first sign that something had changed. I had to reload the page a few times and finally got it at whole.

Now everything works fine.

Sergey

Hi Sergey,

Thank you for following-up! There weren't any support tickets in our system that I could find associated with your account, so thank you for letting me know.

Take care, and have a pleasant weekend.

I am having a similar issue, not able to open drafts that I created.  Just reported to my IT team, waiting for their response.

Hi Sergey,

Can you confirm that other users on your site are having the same issue? Have you reported this to your site admin yet?

I would recommend the following additional steps:

  1. Make third party cookies are enabled. In Chrome you can do this with the following steps.
    1. In Chrome, go to Settings, then Show Advanced Settings.
    2. Under Privacy, click on Content Settings.
    3. Make sure Block third-party cookies and site data is not checked.
  2. Can you try running your browser in Incognito Mode? This will rule out any add-ons you're using in your browser.
  3. Make sure that your local network isn't blocking any access to the IP or domain ranges required to work with Cloud sites.

If this doesn't help, I recommend working with your network administrator, and reporting to your Cloud site admin. The site admin will be able to report the issue to Cloud Support and we can try to replicate it and review the site logs to see what issue is causing this.

Good luck, and let me know if you have any trouble.

I can confirm that other users on the site did not have the issue.  Yes, I Tried to open the URL in incognito mode as well as with with a newly installed Opera browser.

I am sure my  network does not block IP|/domains  because another user using the same WiFi network can open any draft pages. I also tried to open draft pages through coorporate VPN with no luck.

Hello Sergey,

Thank you for confirming that. In that case, I would recommend you work with your Confluence site admin to see why you might not be able to open the draft page.

You can open up your browser console (right-click, and Inspect in Chrome) and then have a look at the Network tab in the panel that pops up. When you attempt to load the draft, watch there to see what might be causing the error message.

You can also help your administrator by recording a HAR file using this panel. It records the output of your console so you can understand what was happening in the background.

Your site admin can help narrow down the reason it might not be working, and otherwise, they can report it to Cloud support if they believe it might be a bug within Confluence.

Take care,

Shannon
