How users' password are saved in Confluence

We would like to know how users' login credentials are saved in Confluence and make sure that the user password is not stored in plaintext in Confluence server or config files. Thanks.

From Restoring Passwords To Recover Admin User Rights:

Confluence does not store passwords in plain text in the database, but uses hashes computed from the original password.
