How to omit "Excerpt Include" Macro from TOC Macro

Astra Valters December 31, 2018

I have an Excerpt Include using H3 (part of the template for our Confluence space).  It appears at the top of every page in the space, and for visibility/design purposes needs to be H3.

In using the TOC, set to show H1-H3, this Excerpt is appearing.

How can I include the other H3 headings, but exclude the one from the Excerpt Include?

Hello there!
Astra, the only option we have currently is to set the Table of Contents Macro to not include headers higher than H1-H2 for example. However, this would not go along the design that you want for this specific page.
Other than that, you can include multiple excerpts without the heading tag. The limitation here would be Excerpt Macro, that only allows one excerpt per page:

Excerpt Macro

A workaround to this would be to use a third-party plugin that allows multiple excerpts from a single page. We have a free and a paid option to this in our marketplace:

Multi Excerpt - Paid Solution

Include Content - Free Solution

The free version is available for server only. For short, we need to limit the ToC macro to only reach H2 or use a third-party add-on that can include multiple excerpts.
Let us know if this helps you out!
