Are you working with Jira Server/DC? You tagged cloud and Confluence, but based on the custom field type I think it`s Jira Server/DC but not Cloud.
In that case, the first thing I would try is to perform full re-indexing, usually, it helps to resolve such type of issues. Another thing to pay attention is the Search Template of the custom field :
If that doesn`t help, please share the syntax you tried in the JQL line and the version of the Power Custom Fields app.
