Hello everyone, I can't understand how to insert an Excel file on a Confluence page. I tried to insert the Excel file first as an attachment into the Confluence page and then adding the "Office Excel" Macro but there is no way. Confluence finds the Excel file to insert but when I click on "Insert" nothing happens. :(
Any advice?
Thank you!
Hi Luca,
Thank you for raising this with us. The Excel macro should still be able to display the contents of an Excel spreadsheet in a page.
If this is not working, then it's best to contact your site admin, and have them report the problem to Atlassian Cloud Support. That way, we can test it and confirm that it's not a new bug, or if there is simply an issue with your site or account.
Let me know if you have any trouble.
Take care,
Shannon
Thank you very much, Shannon! I'll contact my site admin as well :)
Have a good day
Luca

Hi @Luca Ramassa ,
Sorry to hear that you're having problems with the Excel macro. I don't have a specific solution but I have an alternative if the issue persists.
You can check out the Team Files app that allows you to attach Excel files (and many other formats) to your pages. You can preview attached documents and edit Excel spreadsheets right from there (and other Office documents too). You can check it on the marketplace: Short link
Here you can see a preview of how the app works: https://teamfiles.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/TFD/pages/369492021/Attaching+files+and+folders+to+pages+new+editor
Disclaimer: I work at the team that develops this app.

Hello @Luca Ramassa , simple drag and drop the excel onto your confluence page and then when you use Insert the Office Excel macro it auto populates the Excel file in the "File Name" Column (you can leave the Page name field empty).
As per Insert the Office Excel macro
"A note on the Excel macro
We've received feedback that the Excel macro doesn't meet expectations in some cases. There are some known issues with it right now, which are detailed below. So why are we proceeding with the rollout? We're making infrastructure changes for the overall benefit of Confluence users, but they mean that we can't keep the old Office and PDF macros working much longer. We need to proceed with the rollout so we can move forward with the infrastructure changes that have a much wider impact than this macro.
In saying that, we, of course, genuinely care about every user's experience with Confluence, and always want it to be the best. If you're having real trouble with the new file viewer in the Excel macro, comment on this issue and let us know. There unfortunately isn't a short-term fix, as we do need to move off the old Excel macro, but we'll keep working on a better solution for the Excel macro."

Thank you @Sachin
I followed your instructions but unfortunately, Confluence doesn't show the Office document. Probably is the BUG mentioned before.

Hi @Luca Ramassa ,
We can also recommend you to use our app - Table Filter and Charts for Confluence.
Besides different filters, pivots and calculations for your Confluence tables, it contains the CSV macro. This macro allows you to output a table from CSV or TSV data source (from a URL or an attached file).

And an update from our side for other people who may come across this question: if you prefer an Excel-like style of working, you may check our spreadsheets' family that is also provided by the app.
You'll be able to import your existing data in .csv and .xlsx formats and continue to work right in Confluence without switching between different tools. Your data will be always up-to-date.

I recommed Polaris spreadsheet for Confluence addon for inserting an Excel file into a Confluence page.
You are able to directly edit data in a confluence page.
