How to hide create an article link?

Dana Grahf January 24, 2019

We have our Service Desk Server linked to Confluence KB Server however we do not want Service Agents creating KB articles.  Is there a way to hide the Create Article link button and create an article link that display within Service Desk left nav and within the ticket?

Hi @Dana Grahf -

As you probably already understand, a JSD project can be associated with only one Confluence KB space. What you will need to do is to make sure there is no 'Add Page' permission on this space for your JSD agents. If you are looking for how to do this -

Go to Space Permissions and add either each of the agents under 'Individual Users' or a group that they belong to, under 'Groups'. Disable their permission for Add Pages here.

This will still show the 'Create Article' button(s) on the JSD front, but will restrict Agents from creating articles when they try to, with a permission error. If you are looking for options to remove the showing of the button itself, then exploring custom options may be the way to go. Here is a previous question that has some discussion around this.

Hope this helps!

Thanks
