How to grant access to user to only one directory in confluence?

sJ March 7, 2017

Hi

Is it possible to grant access to user to only one directory in confluence. User shouldn't see any other spaces except this. At this time, all our spaces have global confluence users access so we are wondering if this is possible? Can you please confirm?

Yes, this is possible.

The default configuration is that Confluence adds the confluence-users group to new spaces. Your default groups are managed through the Default Space Permissions in Confluence administration.

You need to create a new group for your main users and use that instead of confluence-users in your space permissions. Then add extra individuals or groups as required to specific spaces for the exceptions.

Hi,

as a space admin, you can set space permissions. If some users shouldn't see a space, you have to set view permissions to all the others but the users that shouldn't see the space.
