When I copy a table from Confluence to Excel, the rows get split in the excel document if I have bulleted lines or if I have separate lines (one line, enter, another line). As a result, I have to manually copy and paste the information from other cells/rows to contain it in one row manually.
For Ex:
Confluence Table:
Title | Description | Criteria |
---|---|---|
Title Name | Line 1 Line 2 |
|
When Copying this Confluence Table to Excel, this is how it looks
Title | Description | Criteria |
Title Name | Line 1 | Bullet 1 |
Bullet 2 | ||
Line 2 | Bullet 3 | |
This becomes a hassle when multiple columns are involved leading to a lot of formatting requirements when I have to present data in excel.
Vice versa works like a charm, data from excel gets copied perfectly to Confluence. The other way is causing trouble.
Please advice. Thanks!
Thank you!!! This worked perfectly! Shocking, that Atlassian don't have an export option though!

@Uma Krishnamurthy Welcome to Atlassian Communuity,
We can edit the confluence page, copy and paste to excel
or
We can export to CSV format,
or
You can try Bookmarklet from below URL

Thanks Vikram. Option 1 produces the same undesirable result.
How do I export to CSV?
I tried using the Bookmarklet and it does not export to csv when I click on it from the Confluence page.

We do have the "Export to CSV" feature included in our macros (Table Filter, Pivot Table, Table Transformer and Table Spreadsheet) - I'm talking about the Table Filter and Charts for Confluence app that we develop.
Maybe there were our answers across the Community because, as for now, there is no native export to CSV in Confluence.

@Lloyd Bullard - I use Table Capture to export it to Google Sheets as that is the only possible option in the free version. It is a bit of a work after we export to Google Sheets but still saves time compared to doing it manually.
@Stiltsoft support - I am not able to try your application as we use SSO and it does not accept the email address I input. Moreover, we are not on Cloud and that could also be why I am not able to use your app.
