I'm new...
I want to create a file list on the main page that lists all of the attachments within the team space for a quick reference rather than digging within each subpage to find what is needed.
But I don't want to confuse the main page, so it might be better to list the links to the subpages that have attachments.
Any suggestions?

For this purpose Confluence has the Space Attachments macro. In this macro, all attachments of the current space will be listed as well as the page to which they belong.
For you to use this, you can:
1- Edit the page
2- Type { to bring up the macro browser
3- Search for Space Attachments
4- Insert the macro
5- Publish the page
The macro should list all attachments in your space and also the pages to which they belong. There we will also have the creation, creation date, modification date and labels attached to the files. You can check further information here:
