How does the "notify watchers" checkbox function in collaborative editing?

Hi, I'm just investigating turning on collaborative editing in beta for the organisation I work for and wanted to know at what point(s) are updates sent to watchers of a page? I'm assuming it's only on publish but just wanted to check with someone first, thanks!

Hi Kiri,

You will only notify watchers of a page when you update that page if you check the 'notify watchers' box and then click publish. The 'notify watchers' function should act the same while using the collaborative editing beta.
