How do you lock template variables so users can't delete them when accessing the template?

Watched a user access my global template and while they were completing the fields they hit delete by accident and deleted one of the fields where data should be input.

How do you lock the template so it can't be modified when accessed by users?

Hi @stacey.flynnkissel and welcome to the community,

I'm not sure you can lock the variables. Variables are there to ease the page population, but are not mandatory.

Yeah it's not possible to lock them, at least I have never seen that functionality in the 7+ years I've worked with Confluence.
