How do you insert documents as a link?

Miranda Young March 18, 2020

I am using what looks like a new style Confluence page (created about a week ago) and the link (infinity symbol) no longer allows you add a document.  The document add link creates a big icon for the document, and you can't give it a context meaningful name.  How do you insert links to documents how you used to (single context sensitive line that is hyperlinked)?

Hello Miranda,

Welcome to Atlassian Community. It's nice to have you join us.

We're currently working on returning this option to our new version of the Confluence editor in the following feature request:

In the meantime, if you view ... > Attachments from the page which contains the attachment, or add the Attachments Macro to the page, you'll be able to right-click the attachment name, and copy the URL to the attachment. You can then use this to link any text on the page to your attachment.

Let me know if you have any trouble with that.

Regards,

Shannon
