How do you delete a confluence team?

Philip Wilder June 16, 2021

I have accidentally created a redundant confluence team and would like to delete it:

Per the following screenshots I see no obvious delete option and I should have admin privileges. What am I missing? Thanks.

Seems like the trick is you have to be a team member in order to delete the team. Thanks to Atlassian support for piecing this one together for me.

Hi @Philip Wilder

Look at this post, maybe can help you.

   Possibly you are missing permissions

Cheers

Thanks @Vero Rivas, but as far as I can tell Confluence supports 3 individual concepts: Users, Groups and Teams. Groups and Teams seem similar but groups control what users can do whereas teams are basically just syntactic sugar for confluence (i.e. an easy way to @ a number of people). I believe the page you linked to deals with users and groups but not teams.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the only way to kill a team is to have every member of the team leave it individually but I was hoping there was a better way.
