I want to delete the boards but there is no option to delete
Hello @Carol Dunn
Welcome to the Atlassian community.
Does this concern a board displayed in the Jira product? I ask because your question is posted in the Confluence Questions community.
If the board is a built in board for a Team Managed project then you cannot delete the board itself. Those are present for each Team Managed project. You can find out the Type of your project by looking it up on the View All Projects page under the Projects menu.
For other boards you can go to the Boards list and find the ... button on the far right next to each board. If you have sufficient permissions, the Delete option will show there. Only an Administrator for the board, an Administrator for the Project, or a Jira Administrator will be able to delete a board.
You can get to that screen by clicking in the Search field at the very top of the Jira screen and clicking on the Boards button.
A new navigation has been rolling out to Jira systems. Depending on which navigation you have (original or new) the location for finding the Configure and Delete board options may be different.
In the new navigation you can find the Board Settings and Delete option under a ... button next to the board name.
the following permissions are necessary:
- Board Administrator
- Project Administrator
