How do I show status percentage to load on separate confluence page?

I have a confluence page which shows the status of about 56 projects (Backlog, Blocked, In Progress, Done). On a project summary page, which is on a separate confluence page, I want to provide the status sum count or percentage of how many projects are in each status. Example: 40% Backlog, 5% Blocked, 35% In Progress, 20% Done. What approach is the best to achieve this goal? Any assistance is much appreciated.

Hi @netsamco , great question! Can I confirm that these projects are being tracked in Jira?

Thank you, Harrison, for the response.  The projects are not being tracked in Jira, but only being tracked on a single table that has the status listed in a single column.  In excel, I'd use CountIf function, but the summary page on which I need to report is on a different confluence page.

I thought about using the Table Excerpt and Table Excerpt Include macro to reference the table on the summary page, but am struggling how to display the count.

Ah gotcha, then pulling those numbers from a specific table in Confluence is going to be really tricky without an add-on that is special.

One thing you might consider since you're on Premium (that may even be kind of neat) is using Databases.

You could have a database the has page links to each of your project pages in one column, then another column can automatically pull in the page status of each. This would require you use the page status for your project status (in the screenshot mine are page statuses). Maybe this is nice for your use-case since it is quite visible and in-your-face at the top of the page. Then you can embed that database in your summary page and see the list of projects at a glance. They will always update themselves. You also might be able to get away with using labels and using the calculate features in databases to give you what you're looking for.

This is sort of hacky solution, but is my suggestion based on how you're using Confluence at the moment. Hope that sparks some ideas!

Hi @netsamco ,

As you've mentioned the Table Excerpt/Table Excerpt Include macros, we suppose you have our Table Filter, Charts & Spreadsheets for Confluence app.

So, to count the number of projects by statuses, you may use the Pivot Table macro that works like pivot tables in Excel.

You may reuse your source table with the help of the Table Excerpt/Table Excerpt Include macros. Then wrap the Table Excerpt Include macro in the Pivot Table macro and perform the required aggregation.

Or you may wrap the Table Excerpt Include macro in the Table Toolbox macro (a special macro shell that allows you to create deep macro sequences on Cloud) and create the following structure Table Excerpt Include < Pivot Table < Chart from Table. Then your aggregated data may be visualized.

If you are somehow stuck, please refer to our support portal that is confidential. There you'll be able to share some screenshots and we'll help you with the settings.

Hi @netsamco,

I don't see a way of doing this without an app, so my recommendation would be to search on Atlassian Marketplace for an app capable to generate such report.

If you consider the idea of using an app, our Great Gadgets app for Confluence can be a great solution. It offers a Pivot Table & Pivot Chart macro that can display this info for you in form of a table, heatmap table or charts of various types, as in these examples:

The gadget can display count, sums (of field, such as Story Points), percentages.

If you need any help with this macro, feel free to contact us at support@stonikbyte.com.
