How do I send email notifications for an event on the calendar?

I would like confluence to send an email notification 30 days prior to an event set up on the calendar to the appropriate resources.  I am able to set up an event and set when to send the notification(30 days prior to event) however the notification never gets sent out to the appropriate users when it should. I have tested many times and have not been able to get it to work.

what we found out is, it does not work with an "all day event".

I have the above problem as well. It doesn't work at all in my case (All day event or not). I tried sending emails through confluence 5' prior to an 30' event, apparently those emails are never received by the mentioned users.
