My company does not want users being able to follow other users. So we set all calling links to this functionality invisible. But how could we remove the follow connections that were made before that? Could we just delete the content of the database table FOLLOW_CONNECTIONS? Would this have any side effects or affect the rest of confluence?
We are using Confluence 5.4.3 with Confluence Questions 2.1.5.
Hello Werner,
Yes, you should be able to delete all existing follow connections between your users by running a delete query against the FOLLOW_CONNECTIONS table.
This action should not affect you in any other Confluence functionality other than the follow user itself. So since you do not want to let your users to follow other users, that would be a good way to remove existing connections from the instance.
Remember to save a backup copy of your database before running the delete query and restart your Confluence afterwards.
I hope it helps,
Eduardo
