You can definitely change the colors of all the calendars you are subscribed to by looking at your calendar via your confluence home page, then on the far right it says 'Spaces', 'Announcements', and 'My Calendars'. Click the 'My Calendars' hyperlink and it will take you to the page where you can change the color of each calendar.

you can only change the color of an event type like this:
You can't set the color of an individual event.
