I have a markdown document that i would like to upload to confluence and be able to edit it in markdown format. For some reason i can find that option on blank page.
Hi Nelson,
If you'd actually like to display your markdown in "view" mode instead of as code, you have a couple options:
1. You can insert markdown into a page and have Confluence convert the markdown to Confluence format. Once this is done, however, you cannot restore the original markdown. You can do this by editing a page, clicking the Insert menu (+) and choosing Markup, or by pressing CTRL+ALT+D in the editor. In the popup window, be sure to change "confluence wiki" to "markdown". Once this is inserted you can edit the page as you would any other.
2. You can insert the markdown into a page and have it displayed with the help of an app. There are some free apps for both Server and Cloud that can display markdown:
Server - https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.atlassian.plugins.confluence.markdown.confluence-markdown-macro/server/overview or https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.csharpru.markdown/server/overview
Cloud - https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/render-Markdown/cloud/overview
Nelson,
You can store your markdown in a Code Block Macro. You will need to manually type or paste it here.
It's also possible to add it as an attachment on the page, but please be advised you won't be able to directly edit the document that way.
Let us know if you have any questions.
Regards,
Shannon
