How come emails and notifications are not working for specific spaces and pages?

a particular space which appears to have the same settings as other space which do, is not alerting the users permitted to see/edit the space and pages.

Hi, Carol.

Since you mentioned that it is affecting a specific space, can you confirm on the following please?

  • Which specific notification are you not receiving on this space as mentioned in the Which notifications are included? page?
    • Shares a page or blog post with you
    • Mentions you in a page, blog post, comment or task
    • Comments on a page or blog post that you're watching
    • Likes a page or blog post that you're watching
  • If it falls under #3 & #4, can you confirm if the users who are supposed to receive the notification watches the page / blog post?
  • Is this a new issue that occurred on this space? Were the notifications working before or no notifications were sent out since the creation of it?

None of us received the email notification nor in the notifications within Confluence.  It appears to have similar settings as the other spaces that are working correctly.

Hi, Carol.

Thank you for the clarification on that. Can you please confirm if you are watching the space / pages in the space?

By default, the in-app & email notification should be sent if the checkbox is ticked. 

Additionally, can you please check if other affected users are listed under the Manage Watchers page?

Yes, now we are watching it but not when the creator created the page.  She added me and some other users with tasks assigned.  None of us, including the creator, got an email or in-app notification. It doesn't make sense that the Watch setting needs to be ticked when the creator is assigning us something. please advise.

Hello, Carol.

Thank you for the clarification from your end. I have tested this on my end and I was able to receive the email & in-app notification when a task is assigned to me to a new page that I was not watching as per the following screen shots.
