How can I maintain a link in Confluence when the file location changes?

Theresa Gothard March 6, 2024

Hello - we are moving a user's OneDrive to another user account.  Many of the files are linked in Confluence.  Is there a way to maintain those links so we don't need to manually change hundreds of them?

Thanks!

Hi Theresa,

So you need to convert a bunch of links into new links right?

Out of the box this is not possible.

I would try it with the Confluence CLI plugin which offers a find and replace action. For this to work you'll need to have a list of the old links and their new counterparts. I'm not sure if you'll have that when moving a user to another accounnt?

You could also look at OneDrive's documentation and see if there is a way to keep redirects from one link to another.
