Attach it and use the "excel" macros to pull in data. Copy the data and paste it in (Confluence will understand it's a table). Use REST to poke it in. Use a link to a saved sheet (the excel macros can be persuaded to read remotely stored files in some cases). If they're in sharepoint (ugh), have a look at the sharepoint connector.
There's probably loads more I've missed because I've never run into...
