How can I create a page by importing Confluence wiki markup or markdown?

I need to be able to create pages by importing a format like Confluence wiki markup or markdown. Copying markdown into the new editor doesn't work with tables, images, or macros, so it isn't suitable for my purposes. Please help, my workflows are broken.

Hello Jordan, welcome to the Community!

The editor for Confluence Cloud currently accepts pastes of some, but not all, markdown. At the moment, markdown tables aren't going to result in a table in Confluence. This is captured in a feature request:

For more information about how Atlassian prioritizes feature requests made on jira.atlassian.com, check out this Community post. The new editor is getting new features all the time, and you can see what's recently shipped and what is coming soon in our roadmap here.

Additionally, there are a few solutions on the Marketplace that might be useful. Some can add macros where you can paste in markdown/markup formatting, while others will take an import of already-formatted files. Have a look at the Marketplace apps here , and hopefully one is a good match for your current workflow.

Cheers,
Daniel | Atlassian Support

For my situation it seems the best workaround is to copy a page created earlier that is still using the legacy editor.

Using the Confluence REST API might also be an option.
