Hi gang!

A team lead wants to sync the retro page in Confluence with the Sprint in Jira. Specifically, get the date in "Sprint goal" to appear on the Confluence retro page. And I am looking for a way to do this without using 3rd Party Plugin.

How could we do that without coping manually?

Could we use smartvalues somehow on the page to reference the Sprint goal?

I know there is an API way to access the Sprints, but how would we display the data on the Confluence page?

Thanks,
KGM

Hi @Kristján Geir Mathiesen

Great exercise you got there!

Well, with out of the box functionalities I managed to get the sprint goal into confluence (semi-automatic) using:

  • Jira automation (in jira)
  • Jira Issue macro (in confluence)

But before telling the solution I've came up with, I got to ask you how were you thinking that this should work? I mean, you want this to happen automatically when you finish the sprint?

You are amazing, @Alex Koxaras _Relational_  :)

I had envisioned something like:

  • Scrum Master creates a retro page in Confluence (from a homegrown template)
  • Updates a macro/widget in a table cell with the ID/number of the Sprint and saves (publishes) it
  • Then the "Sprint goal" is visible on the Confluence page and stays in sync if any changes are made on the Jira side

Takk! KGM

@Kristján Geir Mathiesen

I've managed to achieve only the first part, without the updating thing. This needs a bit more thinking..
