I want to create multiple jira issues from a table as shown in a lot of tutorials on the internet.
You start by highlighting text, and the button "create issue" will appear, it says.
But this button won't show up.
I DO have the jira connection and I can show or add jira tickets in Confluence. But only via the + in the editor bar. When I use this the jira macro will pop up where I can type in a jql or create a ticket. Thats nice but not want I want now.
I desperately want to highlight text in a large user story table to then create multiple tickets.
How do I get this function?
Thank you! Ines
@Dave Liao I finally found the function in fact! It was way too simple I guess: I looked for it in the edit mode of the confluence article. By accident I saw "create issue" showing up when I highlighted text in the view mode... It worked for me!
Ahhh, lucky you, it's still broken for me!
Since you answered your own question, I'm marking your answer as correct. ⚡

This worked for me - thanks! I wish I could create an issue while editing since I intend to edit a project plan during the meeting and add tasks, but I guess I will just type them in and convert to tasks once published.

Hi,
I have a question related to this functionality.
I used to be able to have a check box that i can click to link created issues to the epic mentioned on the wiki. This capability is now missing. Does anyone know why?
Thanks,
Sriprasanth

Unhappily it takes only SOME of the description text (from that column( into the Jira issue's description field and then inserts three dots. This is annoying as if only half of the text is important.

Interesting. I don‘t even get to see the choice, only „comment“.

I am quite sure it is the Cloud version because I use confluence in the browser and the address goes like ourcompanyname.attlassian.net
So, you have exactly the same issue (highlighting text and no „create issue“ is triggered?)
In case this is helpful: when highlighting text I get the „comment“ pop up.
How can I get myself updated on the ticket you just created?
Thank you very much !
Ines

Ah, I see a "Comment | Create Issue" choice, but when I click Create Issue, nothing happens. 😟
I don't have a ticket, but I've asked via internal channels.

@Ines Niasseri - hi Ines! Can you confirm what version of Jira and Confluence you're using? I see your post says Cloud-hosted, but want to make sure. 🙂
Asking just in case you're on a self-hosted version of Jira or Confluence. In that case, there are minimum version requirements to using this feature. Of course, I hope you're not using version of Jira or Confluence that are that old...
UPDATE: I'm trying to create an issue on my own Confluence Cloud wiki page, and that functionality isn't working for me. I'm escalating to Atlassian to see if this is a known issue.

Hi @Dave Liao,
The other day, I had a support ticket similar to this, but we determined a browser add-on was blocking this functionality.
Can you tell me what browser version you're using, and if you try this in Incognito mode or with all extensions disabled, can you also replicate it?
Otherwise, we might need to look at it in support if you can raise a support ticket.
Thank you!
Shannon

@Shannon S - appreciate the reach out Shannon!
Using Microsoft Edge Chromium for Windows - version 93.0.961.47 (official build) (64-bit) (non-beta). In incognito, I still can't create issues from wiki pages.
I don't think I can open a ticket, but it's not imperative that I get it fixed 🙂
