Yes, you can apply formatting to a row and simply copy it and paste into another row, which will also retain the formatting of the original row that you copied.

Yes, you need to use Placeholder text macro in the template editor (example below).
Please note that it's not available in the page editor, so please ensure that you are editing a template and not a page. You can create templates under Space Settings -> Content Tools -> Templates

How can I determine which template I've been using? Most of my pages are built from scratch by clicking the '+' symbol to add a new page.
