Folder for attachments in Confluence

Hi All,

some users of my Confluence ask whether it can be use a folder for the uploaded attachments. For instance they attach plenty of documents on a page and they would like to collect the cohere files into folders.

Is there a feature or plugin or macro for this?

Thanks in advance!

The drag and drop of attachments works better in 4.x (especially 4.2) than 3.5, but one option for to consider is the WebDav link. This is enabled thanks to a standard plugin, but from memory, you'll need to be running over http, not https for this to work. The WebDAV option means you can get a view of the Confluence spaces inside of Windows Explorer as a network place. With this your users can drag and drop files as they wish. In large installations (over 500 spaces) there can be a noticeable delay while Windows Explorer renders the view.

Hi Charles,

thank you for the suggestion!

Where is the WEBDAV link? We don't find it.

The WebDav plugin is in the list of system plugins.

Here's the info you need for setting up a WebDav connection (which you do in a WebDav client, not Confluence): http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Configuring+a+WebDAV+client+for+Confluence#ConfiguringaWebDAVclientforConfluence-UsingaWebDAVClienttoWorkwithPages

By the way, this will work when you host Confluence yourself. Doubt it's an option for the Atlassian hosted service.
