Expand Sidebar Menu Items

Hi All, 

So this is making me quite frustrated.
Q: How Can I make any user that goes to the space see the menu items EXPANDED. 
Either fully or just 1 sub level or 2 sub leves etc etc. I NEED a way to customize this. 
I am happy if achieving any one, ideally I could set sub level 1 or 2 or 3...but honestly I just want any type of expansion as me and my time have to clikc like crazy every day....

Searching the web I get:

Since I am not a coder and many of us are probably not can anyone please type the step by step guide how to achieve this solutions for everyone in the future to read and be able to apply?

Using the Cloud based Confluence version. 
Much Appreciate you step-by-step guide and awesome macro code if this is not achievable by default in confluence.. (can't believe it tbh)

@Johan Ekman There is no way to set up the main navigation to be expanded when a user access the space.  You could have a navigation macro on the main page of the space that could have some adjustments to how it displays but there is no way to manipulate the side navigation.
