×Hello Confluence Community,
I assumed that when a database in Confluence is linked to a Jira project, any new Jira tickets created would automatically appear in the database's list. However, from what I’m experiencing, this doesn’t seem to be the case. It appears that the database only dynamically interacts with issues that were connected at the time of linking.
Can anyone confirm if this is correct?
Thank you!
Hi @Christine Breault, Yes, your assumption is correct. When you link a database to a Jira project in Confluence using the "Insert Jira Issue/Filter" macro, it typically displays the issues that match the criteria at the time of insertion. This means it won't dynamically update to include new issues automatically unless you re-insert the macro to reflect any changes or new issues that meet the criteria.
Hi and thank you @Manoj Gangwar for the reply, I found and upvoted the Jira CONFCLOUD-78742. Unfortunately, the workaround to re-insert the macro won’t work for us as it resets our Database setup to default. In our case, we’ve added a Jira details column alongside manual notes and links. Even if I lock the structure or save my template—unless I’m doing it wrong—it resets.
