Excerpt function and Scroll translations

Martin Kellner October 27, 2015

This question is in reference to Atlassian Documentation: Confluence 5.9.1-pluginsfour018 Release Notes

Does the excerpt function now support Scroll translations for multilingual setup? Otherwise the macro can't be used in this kind of setup.

Hi Nils,

don't track, just solve wink

We already discussed similar topics in the past. It would be a big time saver and would reduce error sources. It also hits the include page macro.

Regards

Martin

Hi Martin,

The TranslationContentTransformer used by Scroll Translations can't handle storage format of page fragments. It can only handle whole pages as input.

Because it is part of the ContentTransformer chain, macros like the excerpt macro can't be rendered, as they use the TransformerChain to render storage format of single macros.

We'll keep track of an improved excerpt macro in our own JIRA System: https://k15t.jira.com/browse/VSN-246

Best,
Nils
