Embedded pdf through media macro doesn't show

Jörgen Vöhringer June 10, 2014

I embedded a pdf converted scan into one of my meeting notes. It doesn't show, yet the circuling suggests it loads - but how long can this possible take? Alternatively I try to link the document - here it wouldn't open as pdf. Yet it's uploaded into the area - I think - correctly in a file list. Any ideas?

looks like documents which are scanned and uploaded as pdfs are not liked by confluence; I yet tried another one which doesn't render. The size cannot pose the problem (206 kB) as another document (which I guess came originally from word) is larger (268 kB) and renders without problem. Thanks for suggestions all!

Thanks for the fast reply - the size of the file is 529 kb; is that too big? It opens in my file list perfectly. As for the confluence logs (as I'm not really a technician) - don't know where to look.

Hello Jörgen,

Seems that your PDF is not rendering. What's the size of it? Usually scanned pdfs are big and can be difficult to render.

When you said that you tried to link the document, have you attached the PDF as a file on the page as well? When clicking with the right button and clicking on Save As.. is the file downloaded?

The only way to know for sure what's happening, is to check the confluence logs and look for the messages thrown there.
