Editing Lucene stop words does not work

Viktor October 15, 2019

I am trying to add custom stop words to the Lucene search index.

I followed the instructions at https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/how-to-remove-stop-words-in-jira-s-lucene-indexing-836111705.html

and added some words from my language.

Edited the JAR for English, packed the files back in to JAR, replaced the file, restarted Confluence and re-indexed the search.

However, there is no change. The words that I added to the file are still searchable.

Any solutions?

Viktor,

Thank you for contacting us about this. I see you also raised a ticket with support, but as this is not a supported change, I will try to help you here.

There's another user who had the same requirement, and they were able to resolve it on the thread below. Could you have a look and compare?

Regards,

Shannon
