Does anonymous access have an impact on the confluence licenses count?

Edited

In the confluence support page you write the following:

Understanding the user count for your license

The number of registered users allowed on your Confluence site may be limited, depending on your license type.

The License Details page will indicate the number of users currently signed up (your registered user count). It:

  • includes only users who have the 'can use' global permissions for the Confluence site.
  • does not include anonymous users, who may access your Confluence site if you have allowed anonymous access.
  • does not include deactivated users .

Just for confirmation (as we are a 60k employee company but have only 100 licenses left), if I enable anonymous access to a specific space and have e.g. 1000 anonymous user access the space, this will not impact my number of left licences?

@Giuliano Arrigo

Anonymous users are not subject to the license.
So no licenses are required.
Please note, however, that with a 100 license you can never personalize more than 100 users, no matter how many of them are currently logged on and working.

Many thanks for the reply. Well, we have more than 100 licenses, but currently only 100 left... and nowadays it's not easy to get budget for additional licenses...

Not easy at all :-) We are removing licenses from users that did not login in the last 90 days, so that we dont reach our 2000 license count.

Hi @Giuliano Arrigo !

You are right! It wont affect your user count. We use it in this way in our company.

Hope this helps!

Perfect, many thanks for the superfast reply :-)
