I'm planning to publish documentation (with chapters and sections in those chapters) using Confluence. I also need a decent mobile view (which Confluence 5.x does a poor job of).
Does Instant Website provide a way for visitors to navigate using the page tree, breadcrumbs, or search? (This question applies to both desktop and mobile views.)
From the examples I've seen, I can't figure out how the navigation works in IW.
Thanks!
Hi Dave, thanks for the feedback!
Just a quick update. We've released the documentation theme for preview. We are actively testing on docs.arijea.com now and welcome your feedback.
Please note that it does not yet have the animation you saw in the earlier mockup.
Also, search and mobile are both on the backlog.
Thanks Dave, have a good week,
Nick
Hi Nicholas, thanks for the quick reply.
Just tried your prototype, and yes, this is what I had in mind. Ideally the
current location would be auto-expanded and visually highlighted.
A search box above the page tree would also be good, if possible.
The biggest problem with Confluence right now is their mobile view, because
their hamburger menu doesn't show the page tree, and they don't show a
breadcrumb either. If your mobile view could collapse the page tree to a
hamburger menu, that would be great. (There are several JS libraries and
code snippets that do this already.)
Hope this helps. Cheers!

Hi Dave,
Thanks for the query!
We've been working on navigation this week. One of the shortcomings that our early customers flagged was that we didn't provide deep enough navigation.
If you're keen to provide some feedback on the navigation and shape how Instant Websites evolves please take a look at this mockup and email me (nick@arijea.com) your thoughts:
