Do rule actors need to be changed if an account is deactivated?

Our space has several automations and would like to know if the original rule creator must be updated to change the rule actor to an active team members account or if it can remain associated with the deactivated rule actor profile.

To make it short: Imo you should replace the actor. The user will have lost (or will lose - not sure how it works really) permissions needed to do what the automation is supposed to do. As long as a deactivated user is set as the actor, its likely that you'll run into issues - if not right away then later.
