When archiving a page, i want to add a label or some kind of indication to users that the page is archived. Also, i'd like that designation to show up attached to the page when it shows up in search results.
@Hank Church To add to what @Kristian Klima has said, you could add a custom status called Archived that you apply to the page before you archive it.
Of course, this would involve editing the page. If you're going to edit the page you could instead add a Heading 1 paragraph at the top of the page with text indicating the page has been archived, is out of date, should not be used, etc. You can even apply a highlight to the text or add emojis to make sure people don't miss it.
If going this route, I would create an excerpt for this purpose that you could then insert on the pages to maintain consistency.
I'm not on Premium, so I don't know if there would be a way to add this to the page and then archive the page through an automation.
Thanks for the reply. I was hoping that there would be some kind of automation that would add the "Archived" message (like the one you state above) to the page once it is archived. I forgot to mention that we are on Premium.

Hi @Hank Church
To my best knowledge, archived pages do not show up in search results (and they're not visible in the page tree).
I purposefully archived a page with a dedicated Archived label, searched by the exact name, filtered results by label and the page was nowhere to be seen.
Archived pages appear, and can be browsed, in Space settings > Manage content > Archived pages.

hmmm...everything that i am reading says that archived pages are NOT excluded from search results, unless you add the label "archived" and then filter your search results so that they exclude pages with the archived label.
