I have been using Databases more and more, and generally am loving it, however I notice frequently there is very serious lagging whenever I pull up a Database page. I notice it when I am trying to scroll through rows (it can take several seconds and up to a minute for the rows to load), trying to add a column (sometimes I try to add a column again thinking I didn't do it correctly, and then realize when Databases catches up that I have duplicate columns), and when trying to edit cells (it can take a while before I can actually add in my edits). Anyone else experiencing this problem? Everything else in Jira and Confluence seems to be working great, its just Database where I experience the issues.
Hi @Cat Quinn ,
I've seen that databases sometimes might also appear a bit slower than the rest of the site. Although, in most of the cases, it's working fine. I know there are some performance issues when looking and working with large databases (e.g. CONFCLOUD-80879: Confluence Database - There is a lag when typing on large database tables (1500+ rows))
You might also want to check some suggestions & bugs related to databases and their performance.
I guess as it's a relatively newer feature, it may lack some performance as the rest of the platform/product. Additionally, you can always reach out to Atlassian Support for them to check this out.
Cheers,
Tobi
You are not alone—I've noticed similar lag when working with larger databases in Jira/Confluence. It seems to struggle when loading lots of rows or making structural changes like adding columns. A couple of things that have helped: reducing the number of visible rows with filters, clearing browser cache, and making sure no unnecessary extensions are running. Hopefully, Atlassian optimizes performance soon!
