Creating new blog post - UX?!

Hey guys,

I'm stuck with how to create a new blog post. I'm navigating to blogs and then using the big Create button above. But it does not create a blog, but a Page. Even if I select a blog template then, it leaves me with a draft of a page. What the hell?!

Don't take me wrong, but the UX of Confluence is really much different than any other app I'm using. Very unique. But this is never good.

Near as I can tell, "Blog" in confluence doesn't mean a content type, but a layout for a page.

It's high friction and whoever designed this workflow has never used a blog or blogging platform in their lives. Or if they have, they were forced to work inside of the Page metaphor that Confluence uses and that doesn't equal a blog post. 

Labels (what Confluence uses for tags) aren't visible until you've published the page! 

If I'm missing something or there is a better way, I'd love to hear about it!
