Creating a mock project for a course, EPICS, Stories, Bugs, test, Versions, Created, Updated, Labels

Hi there!

I'm working on an up-skilling presentation for my company and I have asked my JIRa support team to create a mock-up project in JIRA so I can prepare exercises for the course.

I've seen that you can create Epics, Stories and other items on JIRA for this purpose but I was wondering how I could manage that.

Additionally, one of the subjects of the course is issue search, queries and reporting, therefore I would like to know if there is any way that when creating the mock items for the project if those could be set up to show different creation as well as different "last update" dates as it is relevant for some of the search/queries I wanted to touch on.

Hi Zahara,

You can create a Demo Project populated with data by going to your board settings and then selecting "Create a new board". It will then give you an option to "Create a Scrum board with sample data" and "Create a Kanban board with sample data":

Thank you so very much for coming back to me on this, I just have 2 follow up questions, I hope you don't mind :)

1. Would I need Admin rights to get the Create a Scrum/Kanban board with sample data?
Just asking cause I tried to do it with an existing project, which I'm not admin of, and it is not there but in the one the support team is creating for me I should have admin rights. I just want to make sure I don't need to ask for any other extra permissions.

2. Regarding my question about the sample data and the dates of creation/update,
Would the sample data have the same creation date or is there any way the sample data could be created with different creation dates?
