Creating a check box on confluence

I would like to create a check box on confluence which can be edited in ViewMode. 

I'm looking for something like typing manually  in [] and then hitting space, but with possibility of using it in a template. (when using this in template it disappears when creating a new page).

I found a solution. If you type a text after a check box ([] + space) it stays even if you use a template.
