I created "Release Page" and "Deployment Change Request" templates. We have a .doc we developed as our "official" Deployment Plan. We have had issues in the past storing and collaborating on them so I want to imbed it somehow with in the template or add a Tab or automatically add the Deployment Plan as a child page when creating the release page. Open to any and all ideas on how to get a Deployment Plan to automatically be created when the template for the release page is created.

@Adam R_ Lenhard Welcome to the community.

I just tried this in my cloud instance and it worked. My steps:

  1. Open template for editing.
  2. In desired location on page, select the Add image, video, or file button on editor toolbar.
  3. Upload the desired file (I selected a PDF, but it should work with a .doc file too).
  4. Save the template.
  5. Create new page and select this template.

The file is displayed on the new page, and the author can preview it or download it.

In case you might want to update the document at some point, I think you should also be able to:

  1. Attach the file to a page somewhere in your space
  2. Open that page's Attachments page and copy the link to the file.
  3. Use the Link button on the editor toolbar to insert the Link instead of uploading the file. Maybe set the Display text to something like "Instructions for creating this page." The link is displayed on any newly created page, but clicking the link downloads the file, rather than opening it for viewing. Not sure if this is an issue for you.
  4. When you update the instructions document, save it with the same name, open the original page's Attachments page, and upload the updated file.

Hi @Adam R_ Lenhard

To generate child page automatically, I will create an Automation rules based on which the trigger will be the creation of the Release Page.
