Create a child page (created from template macro ) under a different parent page

Does Confluence allow pages created from buttons (Create from template macro)  to automatically become child pages under a designated parent page?

So for example if a create from template button exists on parent page X. Is it possible that the new pages created from the button automatically become child pages under a different parent page 'Y'?

Note we have already tried doing this - Create from Template and Specify Parent Page (atlassian.com)

However above workaround doesn't work anymore.

In my experience, I place the Create from Template macro on the page that I want to be the parent of the new pages. 

I don't think there is a way to create the new page under a different parent page.
