Hi everyone,

Has anybody embedded Vzaar videos on a Confluence page before? Is it possible?

I'm currently testing a few features in Confluence as we're moving from Madcap Flare to another help system at some point in the next year. I've been experimenting with the Connector Widget for video embedding. Our videos are hosted on Vzaar (our customers will most likely have no access to Youtube - this is beyond our control). I can get Youtube videos to appear fine, but the same process does not appear to work for Vzaar.

Any advice?

Thanks,

Michael

Hi Michael,

Embedding Vzaar videos isn't as straight forward as YouTube but it can be done using an "iframe" macro that comes with Confluence Cloud.

  1. Get the embed URL for your video
    (guide here: https://vzaar.com/help/kb/features/embedding-videos

  2. Insert an iframe macro in Confluence

  3. Set the iframe URL to the one provided in "src" inside the Vzaar embed code
    (should look something like "//view.vzaar.com/1234567/player")

  4. Set "frameborder" to "hide" (removes the ugly border)

Alternatively if you want something more flexible you can try the HTML macro that comes with Macro Toolbox for Cloud which will let you insert any HTML safely into your Confluence page.

Hope that helps! smile
