After changing a user's first and last name the suggestion box still comes up with their old one.
I saw this answer https://answers.atlassian.com/questions/118335 suggesting to clear the cache but I'm on Confluence Cloud and I don't see any option to do that there.

Only the System Administrator can perform that on Cloud versions.
I suggest opening a ticket in https://support.atlassian.com/ for the Cloud Team so they could assist you performing that.
