Hi @Matt,

Confluence 5.8 now includes auto row numbers! See the Release Notes here

To get them, click the gear icon for 'table settings'.

It would be great to be able to control where the numbered column appears.  We have merged cells in column 1 and have column 2 numbered.

Hi Matt,

This functionality isn't provided by Confluence out-of-the-box, but you can install the Confluence Table Plugin as this extends the functionality of Confluence's tables and this will allow you to add numbering to the rows in your tables:

All the best,

It appears that the autonumbered column does not appear in any export of the page. Is there any way to support this? Perhaps another plugin?

Hi Reid, You can use Table Filter add-on ( Its autonumbered column exports to PDF/Word.

Hi Matt,

For sure you should vote for

or use plugin mentioned by John

or use CSS/JS magic :)

Confluence 4.3 will have table improvements hovever it will not have row counting.

I am using, with very good outcome Table-Plus Macro, examples:

This works for me: autoNumber=true
