Hi Venugopalnaidu,

If you're looking to migrate a Confluence space to another Confluence instance, you can create an XML space export from the origin instance and import it into the destination instance. For more information, see:

If this doesn't describe what you are trying to do, can you describe specifically what you are trying to do with the space along with your end goals for the process?

Thanks!

Once you import the space, you should see it in the Space Directory (Spaces Space Directory) (be sure "All spaces" is selected in the sidebar).

Hi Venugopalnaidu,

Are you not able to see the exported space?

When you export a space, you should see a link to download the export when it is complete:

Exporting_Space_-_In_Progress_-_Confluence.png

This export will also be held in your <confluence-home>/temp directory for 24 hours.

If this doesn't help, could you provide what steps you've taken so far, and what step you're having trouble with?

Hi @Zak Laughton,

I mean after exporting a space we have to restore it to zip file, after restoring the zip file i am not able to see the migrated space

Ah, I see!

So a couple more questions to be sure I understand:

  • When you imported the space, did you see the import complete on the import page? Example:
    Screen Shot 2019-02-15 at 9.26.13 AM.png
  • Do you see the space listed in the space directory? (Spaces Space Directory, be sure "All spaces" is selected in the sidebar).

If you saw the import complete and you can't see it in the space directory, here's what I'd try:

  1. Check the database to see if the space exists (inserting the name of the space you are looking for:
    • SELECT * FROM spaces
      WHERE spacename = 'My Space Name';
  2. If the space does exist on the database, then it might not be showing due to a corrupt index. Rebuild the index by going to Cog > General Configuration > Content Indexing, and click Rebuild.
  3. If you still don't see the space, try rebuilding the indexes from scratch by following the steps on How to Rebuild the Content Indexes From Scratch on Confluence Server
