Confluence server http only works locally, not remotely

bfang711 April 23, 2017

hi,

I met a very strange issue. I set up the confluence server in my linux server and from the server, I can do http://localhost:8005 to get to the confluence login page, where 8005 is the port I customized. (8004 is the control port) However, I cannot access from other hosts, which are in the same intranet, by doing http://192.168.1.xxx:8005. (Not even from outside the intranet, which I port forward 8005 to <public IP>: 9005)  Do you think that there is something I still missing somewhere?

Thank you.

If Confluence is running ok on localhost, then it's not a Confluence problem.

Either your network is blocking it, or there's a firewall on the server blocking it (most default firewalls will block incoming connections on ports other than the expected ones for a basic server)
