Confluence image properties caption for screen readers does not render in a pdf

Ryan Grisham December 18, 2017

image properties support a title and caption for screen readers. when I render the document in a pdf the title and caption are not on the published document. Is there a setting to render the title and caption on images in a pdf or is this a bug?

Hi Ryan,

Unfortunately the alt text isn't meant to be printed out on the PDF export.

I've tested with some captioning add-ons such Image Captions for Confluence but these are also not included in the PDF export. My recommendation would be to add them as text just under the image to ensure they're included in the export.

As for captions support in Confluence, we have a feature request for this below:

I've included this question as an internal comment and asked that if the captioning support is added that we include it on PDF exports as well.

Let us know if you have any questions!

Regards,
Shannon
