Hi All,
I'm currently working on migrating 'ALL' data from Confluence to Mattermost. Since my team and myself are doing this project from the grass roots, we want to assure we have all the steps and necessary tools available.
So far, the only questions I have at this time are listed below:
1) What kind of Databases does Confluence use?
2) Is Confluence's platform compatible with Mattermost?
3) Do I need to be privy to any sort of updates/versions before migrating data
4) Are there any important instructions anyone can provide?
This is a big project for my team, however any feedback to assist successfully migrating data from Confluence to Mattermost would be a tremendous help.
FYI - We are operating on a Confluence Server.
Thanks,
Jason
Bit confused on what you are going to migrate. These tools serve two different purposes.
To over simplify it, Mattermost is an Instant messaging tool while Confluence is a Wiki.
While you may be able to abuse either to kinda serve as both, it's unusual at best.
Hi Shawn,
Our team is exporting data from Confluence, and importing Confluence's data to our production and test Mattermost environment for testing purposes.
Was this helpful and clear?
Thanks,
Jason

Not really.
Confluence is a Wiki, meaning it's largely formated text and graphics. Mattermost is a IM tool, e.g. Slack, so primarily text maybe some emojis or memes for kicks. Are you exporting the pages into instant messages?
Unless I'm missing something, does Mattermost now come with a wiki?

Mattermost does not come equipped with wiki.
In the matter of Confluence, our team would like to export largely formated text and graphics. In addition, we also want to create and manage Knowledge Base or Step-by-Step Documentation within the platform.
Your insights and suggestions will be highly appreciated. Looking forward to your responses and learning from your experiences.

I don't know of any. You may be better served looking on a Mattermost forum, see if anyone has any experience or recommendations.
