Confluence, duplicate Wiki-Pages (and all the sub-pages plus attachments) in same space

Thomas Schubert March 17, 2013

Hi,

we are using Confluence 3.4.6 as Enterprise Wiki.

I want to build up a space in which we and our contractors maintain together the documentation of our IT processes and server-machines. For this we want to use a company standardized template (a fixed set of pages, sub-pages and attachments - see picture below) that I managed to move into this space now (Thanks to this thread ).

As we have to use the template for many IT-processes I now have to duplicate these pages (and all the sub-pages plus attachments) in the same space several times.

Q: How can I do that?

Thank you,

Thomas

Hello Thomas,

We have the following bit of Documentation in our Knowledge base.

https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/CONFKB/Copy+or+Rename+a+Space+in+Confluence

This article reviews a manual process to copy or duplicate a space. We also have a copy space plugin available in out marketplace. It looks like version 1.2 will work for you.

It is also important to note that Confluence 3.4 is now End of Life. You may want to upgrade into a supported version of Confluence for your enterprise piece of software.

... process to copy or duplicate a space.

... also have a copy space plugin

Without having read that, once more: I dom not want to duplicate whole spaces but just sub-trees.

Q: Will that be possible in an actual or upcoming version of confluence?

Thank you,

Thomas

Thomas,

Are you trying to import part of space into a new space? Could you make a space for each of your subtrees and then import that?

So I should create subspaces in which I had to import my pagetree - I will try.

Thank you!
